Rothenburg o.d. Tauber is filled with perfect Instagram opportunities. Just take a look at my Instagram page and you’ll see I went crazy taking photos of the city. From pretty little streets to beautiful half-timbered houses and the well-preserved town wall, there are so many beautiful things to capture. ROTHENBURG O.D. Tauber IS ESPECIALLY POPULAR TO VISIT DURING A HOLIDAY IN Bavaria AS IT is one of the best trips from Munich!
From where to find those pretty houses to discovering unique angles on the popular landmarks, this blog post is filled with tips about the most Instagrammable places in Rothenburg o.d. Tauber.
The most Instagrammable places in Rothenburg O.D. Tauber
1. Plölein
This is by far one of the most instagrammable spots in the city.
Since it is quite popular amongst tourists, I suggest going there early in the morning or late in the evening to get your postcard perfect picture.
There are several great angles to capture the tower from, but one of my favourites is the view from the left side of the street, standing in front of the Hotel Goldener Hirsch.
2. Marktplatz
This is the city’s main hub where you’ll find the town hall, the Tourist Information. My favorite is the corner of the so called Fleisch-und Tanzhaus with the stunning half-timbered house of the Marien-Apotheke.
3. Markusturm & Röderbogen
Markusturm & Röderbogen are one of the most beautiful gate motives in the medieval town. It's even prettier during sunset giving it an extra glow with the golden light.
4. Town Wall
Another Rothenburg Instagram favorite is the Town Wall. The views are really nice and you get a great overview of the city.
5. Pretty houses & Shop Fronts
There are pretty streets and houses all over Rothenburg o.d. T., but for a guaranteed selection of the most beautiful streets and particularly good spots, head to Pfarrgasse, Klingengasse and Obere/ Untere Schmiedgasse.
Rothenburg's shopfronts rival its houses for pretty Instagram shots. Some of my favourites are the Marien Apotheke and the Bäckerei Stifler. But if you wander around any area of the town, you’re bound to find an interesting shopfront.
Head over to my instagram and you’ll see just how many beautiful buildings there are in the city. From beautiful colored houses to stunning towers, there are photo opportunities around every corner.
