Under certain conditions you can extend your Working Holiday Visa for New Zealand for an additional three months.
Requirements
1. At Least 12 Weeks Seasonal Work (Horti-/ Verticulture)
This includes packing, harvesting, maintaining and planting in the vegetable, fruit and flower industry.
I was able to prove my seasonal work by picking kiwis and then working in the Kiwi Packhouse as a packer and re-packer.
2. Proof Of The 12 Weeks Seasonal Work
It is enough to submit 12 payslips. It does not matter how many days or hours you have worked per week. Alternatively you can attach an overview of your IRD account which shows the periods you have worked. You can find it in your online profile.
Read about my experiences how I got my seasonal work done with picking kiwi fruit and working in a kiwi fruit packhouse!
3. Two Up To Date Passport Photos
Passport photos can be taken quick and easy in most Post Office Shops.
4. Return Flight Ticket & Sufficient Financial Funds
It actually is nowhere stated that you have to prove sufficient financial funds for the next three months. However, you will need a return ticket to travel out of New Zealand. Since it was necessary for the WHV to have enough money in your name, I simply attached a bank statement and my return flight ticket.
5. Application Fee
Here I have linked the form for the extension for you. Just print it out and fill it in with your data. At the end of the form you will also find a checklist, where you can check everything to make sure that you didn’t forget anything.
