The Best Vegan Cafes In Bali

Bali is a hotspot when it comes to vegan food. The island is pure paradise when it comes to insanely delicious, colourful, photogenic food as well as individual cafe concepts, food novelties and beautifully arranged plates.

I decided to check out all the yummy vegan food Bali has to offer and share with you my top vegan cafes you MUST try! There is a huge array of options to suit everybody's tastebuds, with more and more choices arising all the time. These days, veganism is the norm, and vegan restaurants in Bali are popping up pretty fast.

It’s a tough job eating all of that delicious food but it’s actually what I liked most in Bali!

The Costs of Eating Out

As the quality of food here for the price is incredible - I ended up eating out for every meal.
In general, here’s my average for what it costs per meal to dine at:

Western-style Cafe: approx 6-9 EUR
Local Warung: approx 1-5 EUR

You will find the cheapest food at a warring that is usually a family-owned eatery with local balinese food. Most of the time I had only two meals per day which cost me around 15 EUR in total.

Canggu

It is many digital nomads’ top choice in Bali to base in – it’s beautiful, affordable, convenient, and delicious! It is even a paradise for surfers. Aside from the wide variety of dining options, Canggu is also extremely health-conscious and you can find many vegan options!

Here are some of my favorite vegan eats in the area:

LifesCrate

This Cafe is THE hotspot amongst expats and does a great job of catering to everyone. It is perfect for a light lunch, especially when paired with a healthy smoothie. set amongst lush green rice fields it is like a big community with its large industrial living room and communal tables. The cafe is pretty popular so you should bring some time and patience.

The Shady Shack

The Shady Shack is located in the popular area of Canggu surrounded by beautiful rice fields. It is a pretty cool cafe that combines all the Bali vibes with its boho decor and cozy couches. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is generous - serving vegetarian food with tons of vegan options. There are a lot of options to choose from. Every dish is so damn instagrammable and packed full of goodness and nutrients.

Cafe Vida

Cafe Vida is an organic restaurant located in the heart of Canggu and one of the most popular eateries. Everything is cooked in stainless steel utensils and products like palm oil, refined cane sugar or wheat flour can’t be found in their kitchen!

Ubud

When thinking of Ubud, the first things that come to your mind might be yoga and endless lush green rice fields. There are loads of delicious plant based options and amazing places to eat in Ubud.

Here  are some of my favorites:

Chandra Cafe by Radiantly Alive

I wish I would have gone to this cafe more often. It is my favorite cafe with many healthy and delicious options. I loved being there after my yoga classes for lunch. It’s great to go there in between classes however the prices are pretty high comparing to the places nearby.

The Seeds Of Life brings the best taste to raw food. The restaurant serves fresh organic juices, delicious raw and vegan desserts and lots of other super foods. I spend most of my afternoons there to get some delicious nourishing food in between my Yoga classes.

Earth Cafe & Market Ubud

Earth Cafe serves healthy, good quality and plant-based cuisine. The whole foods market is located downstairs. It is quite an expensive cafe in comparison to other restaurants and regarding their small portion sizes. Otherwise I definitely would have gone there more often as the food is pretty delicious.

Nessa Warung

Tessa Warung is a cozy place with a nice atmosphere that offers traditional indonesian dishes. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Their menu is generous with vegan options. The food is delicious and pretty cheap - I ended up going there twice as you get lots of food for little money.

Warung Citta Ovest Pizza & Pasta

Warring Citta makes pretty damn tasty pizza. A thin and crispy base and fresh toppings that I can only recommend. Just ask for no cheese to make it vegan! It is pretty popular and most of the times really busy so you might have to wait a bit.
