Top 5 Vegan Eats In Sydney

My Tips For Vegan Food In Sydney

Vegan restaurants are becoming increasingly popular in Sydney. Although there is not as much choice as in the vegan capital Melbourne, there are still enough healthy alternatives and fast food.

In this blogpost I'll show you what vegan delicacies you shouldn't miss in Sydney. And even as a non-vegan there you'll love all the yummy food!

Speedo's Cafe

The Speedo's is already worth mentioning just because of its location with a great view of beautiful Bondi Beach. It is a cute cafe with an amazing atmosphere and friendly staff. The breakfast as well as lunch menu delicious and the pancakes are always a good choice. Everything is nicely presented. The only downside is that their food is more on the expensive side.

Gigi Pizzeria

Gigi is a traditional Italian pizzeria which bakes its pizzas in a wood oven. They really do have by far the most excellent pizzas I have ever eaten and at an amazingly reasonable price. Unfortunately, it can be quite overwhelming as it's always busy.

Soulburger

Soulburger is definitely the best place to eat vegan burgers and my favorite place to go out for food in Sydney! The portion sizes are generous and the sweet potato fries are amazing.

I have short story to tell from my first visit back in 2016. I knew beforehand that they have vegan burgers on their menu, so I asked two friends (S and K both non-vegan) to go out for dinner in Randwink.

The menu contains almost exclusively "meat" and "fish" named burgers, so I decided to have a falafel burger and a portion of sweet potatoes. Our food is served and we love our burgers after only one bite. S said that the burger sooo good although it is vegan. K and I looked at each other and told her that her burger is with meat and cheese. S then looked at the menu again and it said plant-based beef on it. So we started discussing what exactly plant-based beef actually means (side note: back then plant-based meat hasn't been as big as it's now so we really had no idea). Eventually we ended up asking the waiter.

Long story short: At Soulburger everything is 100% vegan. K can't believe that she, as a meat lover, hasn't realized that there's no meat on her burger - which made me even more happier.

Although we ate more than enough, S still persuaded us to have a milkshake. They are also delicious, but it was too much in the end.

Lord Of The Fries

If you don't feel like sitting in a café or restaurant, I can recommend Lord of the Fries. It's an Australian vegan fast food chain. It's the perfect place to go to if you're starving and need some quick food to satisfy you hunger. They offer burgers, hot dogs, nuggets, onion rings and regular and sweet potato fries.

Gelato Blue

If you fancy a dessert or simply want a nice treat on a hot summer day: the best - but very expensive - ice cream is available at Gelato Blue. The ice cream is made with coconut milk and they have an impressive selection of very unusual varieties.

Eden Cafe

Eden Cafe is a new cafe located in beautiful Bondi! Unfortunately, I haven't been there (yet) as it just opened recently. But from recommendations of some close friends I can tell you it's an amazing cafe that you should definitely try out! If you're looking for a great dining experience with delicious plant-based food that is presented in the most beautiful way possible - this is your cafe!
